In the heart of innovation and wellness, Palo Alto Laser & Skin Care stands as a beacon for cutting-edge technologies that redefine the landscape of health and beauty. Among the revolutionary advancements in non-invasive body sculpting, Emsculpt Neo has emerged as a transformative solution. This blog explores the benefits of Emsculpt Neo, a state-of-the-art treatment that combines muscle building and fat reduction to help you achieve your body goals in the dynamic city of Palo Alto Laser & Skin Care.

The Emsculpt Neo Difference:
Simultaneous Muscle Building and Fat Reduction:

Emsculpt Neo is a dual-action marvel, addressing both muscle tone and fat reduction in a single treatment session. Using high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy, it induces powerful muscle contractions, while radiofrequency technology simultaneously targets and reduces unwanted fat layers.

Efficient and Time-Saving:

One of the standout benefits of Emsculpt Neo is its efficiency. In just a few sessions, patients can experience the equivalent of thousands of sit-ups or squats. This makes it an ideal choice for individuals with busy lifestyles in Palo Alto, offering a time-saving alternative to traditional workout routines.

Muscle Toning and Definition:
Enhanced Muscle Tone:

Emsculpt Neo is designed to stimulate muscle contractions that go beyond what is achievable through regular exercise. This leads to enhanced muscle tone and definition, making it an excellent option for individuals looking to sculpt and contour specific areas of their body.

Targeted Treatment Areas:

Whether it’s the abdomen, buttocks, arms, or thighs, Emsculpt Neo allows for targeted treatment, enabling individuals in Palo Alto to address their unique body sculpting goals. The versatility of the technology ensures that each session can be tailored to focus on specific areas of concern.

Fat Reduction and Body Contouring:
Non-Invasive Fat Reduction:

Emsculpt Neo’s radiofrequency technology goes beyond muscle building by targeting and reducing stubborn fat deposits. This non-invasive approach provides a comfortable and effective solution for those looking to achieve a more contoured physique without surgery.

Complementary to Healthy Lifestyles:

While Emsculpt Neo offers remarkable results, it is not a substitute for a healthy diet and regular exercise. Instead, it complements an active lifestyle, helping individuals in Palo Alto achieve their desired body contour by addressing areas that may be resistant to traditional efforts.

Comfort and Safety:
No Downtime:

One of the key benefits of Emsculpt Neo is its non-invasive nature, allowing individuals in Palo Alto to return to their daily activities immediately after treatment. With no downtime, it fits seamlessly into busy schedules.

FDA-Approved Technology:

Emsculpt Neo is backed by FDA-approved technology, ensuring both safety and efficacy. As individuals seek reliable and proven solutions for body sculpting, Emsculpt Neo stands out as a trusted option.

Conclusion:

In the vibrant city of Palo Alto, where innovation meets a commitment to well-being, Emsculpt Neo emerges as a transformative force in the realm of body sculpting. With its unique ability to simultaneously build muscle and reduce fat, this advanced treatment offers a time-efficient and non-invasive solution for individuals seeking to redefine their physique. It’s paramount to eat healthy and work out regularly. However, there are limitations to this basic healthy lifestyle—and that’s where non-invasive body contouring and sculpting come into play. Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care offers both Emsculpt and CoolSculpting (along with a slew of other body sculpting options). These two treatments are the ultimate power couple, freezing away unwanted fat and building muscle in just 30-minute sessions where you sit back and relax.

CoolSculpting is the first non-invasive body contouring treatment and it’s been around for years. However, the latest CoolSculpting technology works better than ever thanks to the latest handheld devices capable of treating any area. From larger areas like the abs to small places like under the chin, you can CoolSculpt virtually any area of the body where you have stubborn fat. Still, remember that CoolSculpting isn’t a “weight loss procedure” and is best for those at or near their goal weight. If that’s you, and you just can’t get stubborn pockets of fat to move, CoolSculpting might be the answer.

Why CoolSculpting Start Now?

Yes, CoolSculpting and Emsculpt take 4 – 6 initial cycles on average for optimal results. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get started in the summer months—it just means you’ll get a head start on warding off winter weight gain. CoolSculpting requires no needles or downtime, so it won’t get in the way of your vacation plans. With each cycle, fat cells are isolated in a vacuum-like chamber, targeted with precise external freezing temperatures, and then your body’s metabolism does the rest. Results are not immediate because it takes time for those frozen fat cells to be metabolized and expelled from the body. You’ll be able to see some results about 3 – 4 weeks after your first cycle, which is best gauged with measurements and how your clothes fit. Don’t depend on the scale because it might not budge with CoolSculpting (remember, it’s not a treatment for weight loss). This is doubly true if you’re getting Emsculpt at the same time.

Emsculpt works by forcing muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions. Just like CoolSculpting, it takes 30 minutes per session. You can book back-to-back appointments for either of these treatments so that you can tackle multiple areas during the same booking. Also, like CoolSculpting, Emsculpt results are not immediate. Muscles take time to repair and grow. You’ll see initial results in about one month, and sessions are spaced one month apart. You can help your muscles recover and grow by eating a good amount of protein right after each cycle.

The Double Whammy of Summer Body

Gone are the days (thankfully) when getting thinner was the ultimate goal. Today, it’s all about being healthy and strong for men and women alike. CoolSculpting is a fantastic way to target fat that won’t disappear with diet and exercise alone. We’re all born with a unique number of fat cells and distribution. Emsculpt can take your strength training to the next level. Building muscle is tough for anyone, but especially as we get older and sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) sets in. Even bodybuilders will reach their limits. Emsculpt doesn’t replace strength training, but it can help you get past plateaus, and achieve strength and muscle toning that is impossible in the gym alone.

Summer months are a time when we tend to enjoy the hard work we put into our fitness in the winter and spring. If you’ve been skipping your gym sessions, Emsculpt can help bridge the gap so you sustain and build upon your current strength. And if you’re getting into strength training for the first time or after an extended break, Emsculpt sets a solid foundation for health and safety. It’s very easy for newbies to bench themselves when they start strength training. One wrong move can lead to a serious muscle tear. Emsculpt poses no such risk. Plus, like with CoolSculpting, there’s no needles or downtime (though you can expect to feel sore the next day).

You’ve heard about CoolSculpting and maybe even tried it before. It’s the gold standard in body contouring and sculpting, and has long been a favorite of clients at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care. Although the science behind CoolSculpting was discovered in the 1970s, many innovations and changes have been made to it in the past few years. Today, this non-invasive treatment burns more fat faster, which means most people need fewer cycles. You can also get CoolSculpting just about anywhere on the body, including smaller areas.

CoolSculpting works by freezing away small amounts of unwanted fat cells. However, it isn’t a weight loss procedure. You might notice a couple of pounds fall away after your cycles are completed, but the real goal of this treatment is contouring. It’s ideal for those who are close to or at their ideal body weight but struggle to spot-reduce. While it’s true you can’t spot-reduce with diet and exercise, you can with CoolSculpting. When fat cells are externally exposed to precise freezing temperatures, they die. The body will take some time to metabolize and safely remove these dead fat cells, but you can rest assured that those unwanted cells are being targeted at every appointment.

How to Make the Most of CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting can be a great tool to break through plateaus and target areas that are resistant to other methods. It’s an addition to a healthy diet and lifestyle, not a replacement for it. Also remember that although frozen fat cells are gone forever, should weight gain occur in the future, those fat cells can expand into the CoolSculpted area. Most people require 4 – 6 cycles of CoolSculpting per site for optimal results. You’ll start to see improvement about one month after your first cycle with full results six months after your final cycle.

To make the most of your CoolSculpting experience, have a solid workout regimen and good diet already in place. Stick to your cycle schedule, with appointments every four weeks (unless otherwise recommended). Follow the aftercare instructions and keep hydrated. You can also double down on body contouring by adding Emsculpt sessions to your regimen. Unlike CoolSculpting, Emsculpt focuses on muscles—not fat.

All About Emsculpt

Emsculpt debuted in 2019 and quickly became a celebrity favorite. In today’s world, the ideal body doesn’t involve just a healthy weight but muscle tone also—this is true for all genders. However, it can be very difficult, time consuming, and even dangerous to build and tone muscles. Emsculpt works by forcing targeted muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in 30 minutes. Like CoolSculpting, results take time and a similar number of cycles are needed for the best results.

Since Emsculpt builds muscles just like you do manually at the gym (through contractions), your muscles need time to grow. You’ll start to see some results about one month after your first cycle with full results six months after your final session. Maintenance sessions are often recommended every six months. Emsculpt isn’t an alternative to working out and strength training, but it can help you set up a good foundation for a new routine or to break through plateaus.

Emsculpt can also target just the muscles you want to tone and grow without engaging assister muscles. This can be very helpful for those who want, for example, a more toned booty without increasing thigh size. With gym workouts, you can’t only target one muscle. With Emsculpt, you can.

Combining Treatments

Both of these treatments are totally non-invasive with no needles and no downtime. You can also book them back to back in many cases so you can freeze away fat in one session and build muscle in the next. If you’re getting Emsculpt, make sure to bring a protein treat to consume immediately after your session. Muscles need protein to repair and grow, and this is important in making the most of your procedure.

Celebrities and non-celebs alike quickly flocked to Emsculpt when it debuted in 2019. It is now one of the most popular non-invasive treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care thanks to its ability to build muscle mass in just 30 minutes per treatment. A recent study took a look at what happens during a single session of Emsculpt (although most clients are recommended to have 4 – 6 initial treatments spaced about one month apart for optimal results). The team found that by providing HIFEM energy just once through the single Emsculpt applicator, a lot happens below the surface. According to the lead investigator, Robert Weiss, MD, “muscle contractions increases activation of proteins stimulating muscle synthesis and enhances the hypertrophic effect.” In other words, you’re getting a lot more muscle building with Emsculpt than anything you can achieve in the gym.

This is not the first study on the Emsculpt technology. In fact, there have been many clinical studies that show superior results when compared to any other standalone or even consecutive treatment regimens. Dr. Weiss says these finding place Emsculpt “far ahead of any devices currently used for body contouring.” HIFEM technology, which is at the core of Emsculpt, uses alternating magnetic fields in order to force supramaximal contractions in targeted muscles. This is done via nerve pathway stimulation without needing to elevate temperatures. These HIFEM-induced contractions are greater than any other voluntary contraction you might be able to achieve at the gym because of the specified stimulation frequencies and patterns. Still, there are some similarities between Emsculpt and gym workouts.

Taking Muscle-Building to the Next Level

Repetitions are going to lead to a tissue healing response whether you undergo Emsculpt or a committed gym routine. Emsculpt is different because it forces muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes. That’s identical to performing 20,000 perfect and consecutive lunges, squats, curls, or other such move—which simply can’t be done by anyone (and especially not in 30 minutes). This is how “repetition” is similar between these two approaches. The tissue healing that your body will undergo will, in turn and time, lead to more muscle mass thanks to amplified muscle fibers.

When these contractions are due to HIFEM, the response is stronger and leads to more muscle hypertrophy (growth). During such intense contractions, muscles are continuously stretched and then relaxed. It’s like resistance exercises, but much more intense. The muscle workload with Emsculpt results in “sufficient intensity [for] micro-ruptures in muscle fibers” according to the study. This signals molecules to release and activate the natural regenerative process of muscle growth. In other words, the muscles “learn” to get stronger so they are more prepared for future similar loads. Part of the signaling molecules include heat shock proteins, or HSPs, which are critical for hypertrophy and encouraging muscle protein synthesis.

Is Emsculpt the Right Choice for You?

The researchers concluded that Emsculpt “represents a breakthrough approach to non-surgical body shaping.” It is suitable for nearly everyone, from highly sedentary high-BMI people to elite athletes. They call the technology “a new class of device far ahead of any device currently in the marketplace for body contouring…treatments are faster, safer and more effective than ever before.” Whether you are getting ready to start or restart a fitness regimen or take your current high-level fitness to the next stage, Emsculpt can help you get there. Even one session ensures incredible progress, but a series of sessions can set you up with a solid foundation for success.

It is commonly recommended that, following your initial series of sessions, maintenance sessions are undertaken every six months to help sustain results. You can get Emsculpt virtually anywhere on the body you typically want “gains” and strength, from the back to abs or the upper arms and legs. Back-to-back Emsculpt treatments on various body parts can be booked so you can compound your treatment time. Consultations are complimentary on all treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care, so book yours today. Call the clinic during office hours or, for the quickest response, complete the online contact form now.

Winter skin is different, but at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care we have all the aesthetic services to help you get healthy, glowing skin year-round. Recently, Forbes comprised a brief list of their most-recommended winter treatments and we couldn’t agree more.

First up is Emsculpt, the breakthrough treatment that helps you get back on your fitness track (or set a solid foundation for a new one) in just a few short sessions. How does Emsculpt work? It’s backed by science—and builds muscles the same way you naturally do at the gym, but with no effort on your end.

Emsculpt makes targeted muscles perform 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes. These are the contractions necessary to grow and build muscle. Of course, nobody can do 20,000 lunges, crunches, or other strength move (let alone in 30 minutes) but Emsculpt can. Your muscles will respond to these contractions just like they do in the gym, so expect soreness. Around 4 – 6 sessions spaced a couple weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.

Forbes stresses that not only does Emsculpt build muscle and reduce fat, but “The results are not just a more chiseled physique but additional strength in those areas.” This is critical for a myriad of reasons. For example, a toned stomach might look great but when your core is strong is also helps with balance and posture. Sarcopenia, or age-related muscle-loss, begins in earnest in our 30s and increases every decade thereafter. Strong muscles are essential to a healthy life, especially as we age, making Emsculpt not just a cosmetic treatment but one that can be critical to staying healthy.

HydraFacial Love

The HydraFacial is a 3-in-1 treatment that combines exfoliation with extraction and infusion of medical-grade skin care products. It uses a wet vac to give you a 30-minute treatment that leaves skin soft, supple, and healthier with no downtime. Forbes recommends it as a winter treatment for those who want fast results. Plus, the topicals added to the skin at the end of the treatment are all custom-selected for you and your skin’s needs in that moment, making every HydraFacial treatment unique.

There might be some slight pinkness after your treatment, but that dissipates quickly and you can get a HydraFacial the day of a big event with no worries about lingering side effects. In fact, day-of results is what most people love stating that their skin feels baby-smooth. HydraFacial can be a fantastic monthly treat or a way to prep for a special event.

Why Winter Skin is Different

Even in California, your skin is going to feel—and show—the effects of winter. Skin during this season tends to be dryer and the weather can trigger problems like breakouts or rosacea. Seeing your skin care expert is the best way to head off future problems and address current winter skin woes. Here, every provider has been personally trained by Zuzana Likar to unparalleled standards so that you can rest easy knowing every treatment is top of the line and individualized for you.

Winter is also a great time to reassess your at-home skin care regimen. Only medical-grade products should be used to supplement in-office treatments and get your skin as healthy and radiant as possible. However, our skin and its needs are always changing, and seasonal shifts can be a big one—remember that our skin is an organ. Working with an aesthetician to design an at-home routine that works for you and your budget can help you tick one more item off your New Year’s resolution list: take better care of your skin and reap the benefits.

If you’d like to schedule Emsculpt, a HydraFacial, or any other aesthetic treatment to look and feel your best in 2023, get in touch with us today. We have all of the tools and treatments you need, coupled with leading aestheticians in the field, to give you the results you deserve this year. Call Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care during business hours or, for a faster reply, simply complete the online contact form right now.

A study published in 2021 examined how effective the non-invasive Emsculpt technology is, specifically when targeting the stomach and buttocks. Emsculpt has been one of the most-requested treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care since it arrived, with countless patients taking advantage of high-intensity focused electromagnetic field (HIFEM) energy to both build muscle and reduce fat at various target sites. Emsculpt can be used virtually anywhere you want to achieve these goals, but the abs and glutes have long been two of the most popular sites. The study included 14 patients, 23 – 49 years old, who received four treatments on the stomach and/or buttocks for 30 minutes at a time. Approximately 4 – 6 sessions are the average number of sessions needed for optimal results.

In order to gauge effectiveness, ultrasound images were taken before and immediately after treatments. Additional imaging was taken eight weeks after the last treatment, since building muscle and reducing fat does not happen right away with Emsculpt (or any treatment). Thickness of the rectus abdominus muscles and subcutaneous fat was measured via ultrasound. This was supported by measuring waist circumference, taking progress photos, and collecting patient ratings. Digital image improvement was evaluated by both patients and researchers. Two months after the final treatment, ultrasound images revealed an average 15.7 percent reduction in subcutaneous adipose tissue (fat) and a thickening of the ab muscles by 26.1 percent.

Emsculpt Figures

The circumference of the waist decreased by an average of 2.84 centimeters. Immediately following the last session, patients rated their satisfaction at 87.5 percent. Eight weeks after that session, the satisfaction rating was at 100 percent. While looking at digital images of themselves, 25 percent of patients said their appearance had improved while 66.7 percent said it had “significantly improved” and 8.3 percent said it “greatly improved.” Practitioners who rated the images with the Global Aesthetic Improvement scale marked all patients as “100 percent improved.” There were no side effects reported during treatment.

Researchers concluded that the data gathered during this study are in keeping with Emsculpt’s clinical studies. “The treatment achieved high doctor and patient satisfaction,” says the research team.

Why Emsculpt, Why Now?

According to the researchers, an increased focus on appearance partially stems from social media. However, wanting to look and feel your best is certainly not a new phenomenon. Still, there has been an increase in body sculpting treatments in recent years, such as CoolSculpting, and it’s important to be able to trust that the technology and treatment you are considering will be effective. Emsculpt’s maker, BTL, has shared numerous clinical studies publicly, each touting just how well it works.

The science behind Emsculpt is fairly simple. Muscles get bigger, stronger, and more toned when they experience what is called supramaximal contractions. These are the kind of muscular contractions achieved when lifting weights or during manual labor. Obviously, there are risks to these kinds of contractions in such conditions, such as severe muscle or ligament tears. Such risks are not present with Emsculpt, which pushes only the targeted muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions. Your muscles do not know or “care” how these contractions occur, whether from the gym or Emsculpt. They will respond as they should to these “good” micro-tears by creating more muscle fibers or “gains.”

Who is Emsculpt For?

Emsculpt can be helpful for everyone in terms of muscle strength, but if you are interested in Emsculpt for aesthetic, researchers note that it is best for those with lower BMIs. However, during the study, those with a BMI up to 32.8 reported being satisfied with the results. Researchers suggest a combination therapy using other fat-reducing treatments for the most effective approach.

The researchers say, “The results of our study suggest that the HIFEM procedure is a safe and effective option for noninvasive body shaping.” However, they urge more studies with more patients to take place in the future, possibly splitting groups into different cohorts arranged by BMI. If you are interested in Emsculpt, starting right now will ensure you can enjoy your full results in time for swimsuit season. Also remember that Emsculpt is not a replacement for healthy diet and exercise, but a way to supplement and support these habits. Some people also use Emsculpt as a means of establishing a good foundation for returning to or starting a workout regimen. To find out more about Emsculpt or schedule your appointment, get in touch with us today. Call Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care or complete the online contact form now.

How can you tell the seasons are changing? Just take a look at your skin! Our skin is the largest organ we have, and it is affected by both internal and external changes—which is why Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care offers the best treatments and procedures for all of your skin conditions. As we move into cooler weather, you might notice your skin and body are responding (and not necessarily in the way you would prefer). Here are our top aesthetician services recommended for autumn (and beyond):

Thermage FLX for skin tightening.

Many people think getting that “summer body” means fat reduction and perhaps muscle toning. However, anyone who has lost weight knows that skin laxity is a common problem. For years, the only way to fix loose skin was with surgery, but now there is Thermage FLX. This non-invasive treatment can be used virtually anywhere on the face and body, working via collagen induction therapy from the inside out. Most clients require just one treatment for maximum results and there is no pain, needles, or downtime. If you’re ready to get tight and right for autumn, this is the treatment for you.

CoolSculpting for targeted body sculpting.

CoolSculpting is the original non-invasive body sculpting treatment that really works. The treatment has been around for decades, but is always improving. Today, you can “freeze away fat” just about everywhere you want, from popular larger areas like the stomach and flanks to small areas such as below the chin. CoolSculpting targets small areas of unwanted fat and externally treats the area with precise chilly temperatures. This “kills” the fat cells, which the body naturally absorbs and expels in the months following the treatment. Most patients need 4 – 6 cycles per site for the best results. Initial results start to show about one month after the first cycle, with full results six months later.

Emsculpt for muscle toning and building.

One of the most challenging parts of getting fit is building strong, toned muscles. Emsculpt gives you leverage with a non-invasive treatment that forces targeted muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes per treatment site. These types of contractions are identical to what your muscles do when “strained” during weight lifting or other such activities. It isn’t a replacement for strength training, but complements it. Emsculpt can help you bust through plateaus, take your fitness to the next level, or establish a healthy foundation for those starting or restarting strength training. Most clients need 4 – 6 initial sessions spaced about 30 days apart, with a maintenance sessions scheduled every six months.

Lasers for serious skin rejuvenation.

We are home to one of the largest laser suites in the area, ranging from gentle options like Clear + Brilliant (a favorite for pre-juvenation) to more aggressive lasers like CO2. Whether you want to undo sun damage, minimize lines and wrinkle, improve laxity, get rid of unwanted tattoos or hair, or simply make your skin as clear, youthful, and radiant as possible, we have the right laser for you. Many of our lasers are suitable for all skin tones and types, such as the Halo laser and broadband light (BBL) therapy. Mixing and matching lasers can also be a great approach for many clients.

Learn more about all of the aesthetic services at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care by scheduling a consultation with one of our experts today. Simply call the office or complete the online contact form right now.

Body contouring and sculpting has never been so quick and easy. We offer a variety of non-invasive and minimally-invasive options to help you achieve your body goals—with results that begin to show before the end of summer. All body contouring options require multiple sessions, but with results that are visible just one month after the first treatment you can look and feel your best in time for Labor Day events. Take a look at our three most popular options, all of which work fantastically with one another. In many cases, it is possible to book back-to-back sessions to make the most of your time and put your sculpting goals on the fast track.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is the original fat-freezing technology that kills fat cells by exposing them to exacting chilly temperatures. It’s completely non-invasive and calls for targeting treatment sites in a specialized sort of “vacuum” (so it can feel a bit unusual but is pain-free). Even though CoolSculpting technically kills unwanted fat cells, it is not a “weight loss” treatment, but rather designed for sculpting and contouring. The best candidates for CoolSculpting are at or near their goal weight but struggling with stubborn pockets of fat that won’t budge with diet and exercise alone.

Today, CoolSculpting is better than ever. It kills more fat faster, which means quicker results and potentially fewer sessions. It can also be used just about anywhere on the body, including small areas like underneath the chin. Clients love CoolSculpting because there is no needles or downtime. To gauge your progress, track how clothes fit and measurements rather than the number on the scale—especially if you pair CoolSculpting with Emsculpt.

Emsculpt

When Emsculpt became available just a few years ago, it was a total gamechanger. Today, we know that it’s not just about fat reduction, but also muscle gains and tone. However, building muscle can be even more difficult than fat reduction! It typically requires hours in the gym and risk of injury, but not with Emsculpt. This non-invasive technology makes targeted muscles perform 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes per site. That is the equivalent of 20,000 strength moves like lunges or crunches. For your body, there is no difference, so you will definitely have to “feed” those muscles protein right after your session.

Like CoolSculpting, most clients need 4 – 6 initial sessions spaced 2 – 4 weeks apart for optimal results. Then, maintenance sessions every six months can help you sustain results (no maintenance is needed for CoolSculpting). Emsculpt can help you restart a workout regimen or take your current fitness to the next level. It’s a complement to a healthy lifestyle, not a replacement. It’s easy to see why CoolSculpting and Emsculpt are the perfect match, combining targeted fat reduction with muscle toning. But that’s not the only factor when it comes to getting a body you’ll love.

With these three body contouring options, you can sculpt and contour your body to maximum confidence. Learn more during a complimentary consultation. Contact Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care today by giving us a call or filling out the online form.

You can’t spot reduce with diet and exercise, and for many years the only option for customized body contouring was liposuction—which comes with all the risks and downtime of surgery. However, Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care offers three options for body contouring so you can take full control of your aesthetic. With both non-invasive and minimally-invasive procedures to tackle fat, cellulite, and muscle, make this the summer where you look and feel your best. Start now and you’ll see initial results before Labor Day weekend.

Every provider is trained by Zuzana Likar to the highest of standards. Bear in mind that it’s not just the treatment, but the skill of the provider, that makes all the difference in your outcome. We are committed to helping you achieve your best self, and for the vast majority of people that includes body contouring. Gone are the days when “just” fat loss was the goal. Today, it’s equally about building muscle and blasting cellulite. Here are our top three treatments for summer bodies.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is the classic body contouring treatment that freezes away unwanted fat safely and comfortably. Of course, CoolSculpting technology has changed and advanced a lot since it debuted years ago. Today, CoolSculpting can be used just about anywhere you want to spot reduce and contour, including very small areas like the submental fat under the chin. CoolSculpting also reduces fat quicker and more effectively with the latest technology, which means you need fewer cycles for optimal results.

CoolSculpting is non-invasive and requires no downtime. Most clients scroll through their phone, read, or even work on laptops during their treatment. The targeted area is isolated (it looks and feels like it is suctioned in a vacuum) and exposed externally to exact low temperatures that “kill” fat cells. Results aren’t immediate, but in the days and weeks following the treatment you will start to see a reduction. The best way to gauge results is with a measuring tape, how clothes fit, and photos rather than a scale—especially if you combine CoolSculpting with Emsculpt.

Emsculpt

Emsculpt builds muscles by forcing targeted areas into 20,000 perfect supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes per site. These types of contractions are identical to what you achieve in the gym when you perform a good rep. Of course, nobody can actually do 20,000 reps in a row (let alone in 30 minutes). Just like with CoolSculpting, results from Emsculpt aren’t immediate because it works just like a gym workout. Muscles get bigger and stronger as they repair themselves post-workout. You will start to see initial results about 2 – 4 weeks after your first session.

Both CoolSculpting and Emsculpt require multiple sessions, typically 4–6 spaced about one month apart. Emsculpt is not an alternative to strength training, but a complement to it. It can help you establish a safe and solid gym routine, break through plateaus, or take your current workout to the next level. Once you have completed your initial series of sessions, maintenance treatments every six months are a good idea to maintain your next level of fitness.

Are you ready to contour your ideal summer body? All three of these treatments can be used together, or as a standalone procedure. Contact Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care by calling the office or filling out the contact form today.

There are limits to what exercise and diet can do, which is why Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care offers various modes for body contouring and sculpting. If you have ever been told by a trainer or nutritionist that you can’t “spot reduce,” that is true—at least when depending exclusively on workouts and a healthy diet. However, CoolSculpting is a means of “spot reduction” that works by freezing away small amounts of unwanted fat cells. It has long been one of the most popular, safest, and effective ways to non-surgically contour the body and summer is the perfect time to start the process.

CoolSculpting

The CoolSculpting technology has been available for years, but the makers continue to improve and advance modalities. For instance, CoolSculpting can now be used just about anywhere you want to reduce fat cells, including small areas like the submental (under-chin) area. CoolSculpting works slow and steady, with most clients requiring 3 – 6 treatments for optimal results. When fat is “frozen away,” fat cells “die” but do require some time to be absorbed and expelled from the body. This means that results are not immediate, but you can start to see improvement after one month. Taking photos and measurements is a better means of gauging CoolSculpting progress rather than a scale. It is not uncommon for CoolSculpting clients to lose 1 – 2 pounds, but bear in mind that this is a contouring treatment and not a weight loss procedure.

Emsculpt

Contouring the body isn’t just about targeting pockets of fat and getting rid of cellulite. Men and women alike know that muscle tone is critical for looking your best during swimsuit season and beyond. However, building muscle is very difficult and can require intense sessions in the gym. Emsculpt can help take your fitness to the next level with a non-invasive treatment that forces muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in 30 minutes. That is the equivalent of performing 20,000 perfect squats, crunches, curls, or other muscle-building rep. You of course could not do this on your own (safely or otherwise), but Emsculpt can. The treatment is quick and easy, but you should expect to feel sore afterward just like with any workout. Remember that Emsculpt is not an alternative to strength training, but a complement to it. It can help get you ready for a new fitness routine, break through plateaus, and take your strength training to the next level.

These three body contouring strategies work well together, too. It is possible to undergo back-to-back treatments to work on body contouring, cellulite reduction, and muscle-building in tandem. After all, all three means of body sculpting are important. To find out more about body sculpting options at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care, start with a complimentary consultation.
