In the realm of skincare treatments, one name stands out for its remarkable effectiveness and gentle approach: HydraFacial. This revolutionary facial treatment has garnered widespread acclaim for its ability to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin, leaving it looking radiant and refreshed. But what exactly makes HydraFacials so great? Let’s delve into the magic behind this innovative skincare solution.

The HydraFacial Experience: A Multi-Step Marvel

At the heart of the HydraFacial experience lies its unique multi-step process, designed to cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate the skin. Each step is meticulously crafted to address various skincare concerns and deliver maximum benefits.

Cleansing and Exfoliation

The treatment begins with gentle cleansing and exfoliation to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and debris from the skin’s surface. This step sets the foundation for deeper penetration of subsequent skincare ingredients.

Acid Peel

Next, a gentle acid peel is applied to further exfoliate the skin and loosen dirt and debris from pores. Unlike traditional peels, HydraFacial’s acid peel is mild and non-irritating, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Extraction

Following exfoliation, the HydraFacial device uses patented vortex suction technology to painlessly extract impurities from pores, including blackheads and whiteheads. This step unclogs pores and helps to refine skin texture, leaving it smoother and clearer.

Hydration

The final step involves the infusion of potent antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid into the skin. These nourishing ingredients replenish moisture, promote collagen production, and enhance overall skin health, resulting in a radiant and youthful complexion.

The Benefits of HydraFacial

Immediate Results: One of the most appealing aspects of HydraFacial is its ability to deliver visible results in just one treatment. Many clients report a noticeable improvement in skin tone, texture, and hydration immediately after their session, making it an ideal option for special occasions or events.

Customizable Treatment: HydraFacial can be tailored to address specific skincare concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. By adjusting the intensity of each step and selecting targeted serums, skincare professionals can customize the treatment to suit individual needs.

Gentle and Non-Invasive: Unlike more aggressive skincare treatments such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion, HydraFacial is gentle and non-invasive, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. There is minimal discomfort and downtime associated with the procedure, allowing clients to return to their daily activities immediately afterward.

Long-Term Benefits: With regular HydraFacial treatments, clients can experience long-term improvements in skin health and appearance. By promoting collagen production, improving circulation, and protecting against environmental damage, HydraFacial helps to maintain a youthful and radiant complexion over time.

In conclusion, HydraFacials at Palo Alto Laser & Skin Care stand out as a truly exceptional skincare treatment, offering a unique combination of effectiveness, versatility, and gentleness. Whether you’re looking to address specific skincare concerns or simply pamper yourself with a rejuvenating experience, HydraFacial has something to offer for everyone. With its innovative approach and remarkable results, it’s no wonder why HydraFacials are considered one of the best treatments for achieving radiant and healthy-looking skin.

You probably know HydraFacial—it’s the revolutionary 3-in-1 facial that simultaneously exfoliates, extracts, and infuses skin with medical-grade topicals. It has been one of the most popular treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care since it debuted. However, HydraFacial Elite takes the technology you love to the next level. Get remarkable results, all backed by science and countless clinical trials. Now, HydraFacial is even more customizable so you can choose from a variety of enhancements and add-ons for your unique skin.

Our skin is the largest organ we have and it needs routine TLC. HydraFacial can give you the pampering your skin deserve regardless of your skin tone or type. Now “Elite,” you can tackle more targeted concerns than ever before. The HydraFacial Elite “Expect Everything” campaign perfectly sums up the procedure. Now, HydraFacial Elite offers technology-enabled personalization featuring state-of-the-art protocols that let your provider create regimens with an advanced interface. Remember that the skill of your provider is just as important as the treatment itself.

Get More of the Treatment You Love

More treatment options are available with HydraFacial Elite, including the Keravive scalp treatment and the “Perk” option for lips and eyes. Your scalp needs pampering just like the rest of your skin, and lack of attention in this area can lead to dryness, flakes, and ultimately hair that isn’t as healthy as it could be (remember, great hair starts from the roots). Perks let you get the HydraFacial results you adore in delicate areas that had to be avoided with the original HydraFacial. Considering how important the eyes and lips are, this is a must.

Contrary to the name, you can actually get a HydraFacial Elite treatment virtually anywhere on the body. Add on the latest lymphatic therapy and LED light therapy, which is now available with the Elite technology, and there’s no stopping your summer skin care game. Plus, there are now more boosters than ever before so you can be sure to get medical-grade topicals designed just for your skin type, concerns, and goals. From fine lines and wrinkles to brown spots and laxity, HydraFacial Elite can improve it all.

Summer Skin Care isn’t Over

We might be in the middle of summer, but it’s never too late to upgrade your skin care game. HydraFacial Elite is a favorite summertime treatment because it requires no prep work, no needles, and no downtime. Wearing sunscreen year-round is critical no matter what, and right now is a great time to upgrade to medical-grade sunscreen. However, unlike some other treatments like peels and lasers, HydraFacial Elite doesn’t make your skin more vulnerable to UV rays than it already is. Every HydraFacial Elite treatment includes the application of medical-grade sunscreen at the end of your appointment so you leave protected and can try out a silky sunscreen option before committing to an entire bottle.

The CEO of HydraFacial says they are “thrilled” to be advancing their skin health platform and can’t wait to share the clinical findings that outline just how well the system works—“providing even more ways to personalize the HydraFacial treatment experience and offering endless possibilities for every skin type.” HydraFacial Company is renowned for their collaborative approach, which is why you can enjoy a variety of boosters from various companies when you opt for a HydraFacial Elite treatment. According to the latest HydraFacial Elite study, participants get skin that is 50 percent smoother after their treatment when combined with an ablative fractional laser (compared to “just” getting a fractional laser treatment). Pairing HydraFacial Elite with IPL yields 30 percent extra reductions in brown spots compared to getting IPL alone.

HydraFacial Elite is gentle enough to couple with nearly any other in-office treatment, but can also give you gorgeous results by itself. Mixing and matching treatments has long been a great approach to compounding results (and appointment times!). Are you ready to turn back the clock, amp up the glow, and get your best summer skin ever? Contact Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care today to schedule your consultation, where Zuzana Likar personally trains each aesthetician. Call the office during business hours or fill out the online contact form now.

You know (and love) HydraFacial—whether you’ve experienced this 3-in-1 treatment yourself or heard celebrities raving about it. HydraFacial quickly became one of the most popular treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care because in just 30 minutes you get a wet vacuum facial experience that simultaneously exfoliates, extracts gunk from pores, and infuses the skin with medical-grade topicals hand-selected just for you. It leaves skin smooth, supple, and soft, so it’s no surprise many clients wished they could get the same results on other parts of the body (such as the decolletage and back). Now you can with HydraFacial Body.

It’s the exact same concept but on a larger scale. HydraFacial is suitable for all skin tones and types, and is gentler than other 3-in-1 procedures because of the “hydra” part of the technology. Your provider glides the vacuum over the treatment area and proprietary Vortex technology removes debris and dead skin cells from the surface. A HydraFacial always begins with cleansing the treatment area, which means the muddied water held in the chamber is sebum, debris, and cells that don’t get removed with your typical skin cleansing. In fact, one of the most satisfying parts of a HydraFacial is seeing for yourself just how much debris is removed.

Benefits of HydraFacial Body

Just like with a treatment on your face, a HydraFacial Body treatment concludes with your provider applying medical-grade topicals to the treated area. The topicals selected for you will likely change appointment to appointment because your skin is an organ whose needs change. The finishing touch, however, is always the same: sunscreen. If your HydraFacial Body is in an area that is going to be exposed to sun damage, you can rest assured that you will leave your appointment protected.

However, HydraFacial body inherently comes with some benefits that aren’t available to the face—like body contouring. The process improves blood circulation which can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. It’s also a bit of a massage, which can help relax the fibrous tissue that causes cellulite. Ultimately, if you want to look and feel your best this swimsuit season, you need a little TLC for body parts that aren’t typically exposed in the winter months. HydraFacial Body is a great way to get smoother, tauter skin that’s wholly rejuvenated. Many people opt for monthly HydraFacial and HydraFacial Body appointments, especially in the summer.

Double Down on Contouring

Just like all of the body contouring and sculpting treatments available in our clinic, HydraFacial Body is non-invasive and requires no needles or downtime. You can also combine it with other body sculpting treatments like CoolSculpting to freeze away small amounts of unwanted fat or Thermage FLX for collagen induction and skin tightening. And of course, combining HydraFacial with HydraFacial Body is an excellent way to achieve all-over skin revitalization.

Consultations are complimentary for all procedures in our clinic, and during yours we can discuss which medical-grade topicals might be best during your upcoming HydraFacial Body treatment. There are options to address every skin issue including laxity, lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, dryness, and more. It’s also a fantastic time to upgrade your at-home skin care regimen.

Topicals: The Grand Finale

Medical-grade products simply do more, better, and faster than anything in pharmacies or high-end department stores. Only these products can legally carry the best ingredients in the highest concentrations. Your skin’s needs are also always changing, especially after a seasonal shift, so your current at-home routine might not be the best at the moment (and check to see if your products have expired, too!). A HydraFacial Body treatment is a great opportunity to try out a new-to-you medical-grade product before committing to an entire bottle.

We are dedicated to helping you balance in-office treatments with an easy at-home care routine that works for you. To find out more, schedule your consultation or appointment today. Get in touch with Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care by calling the office during business hours or, for the quickest response, complete the online contact form now.

HydraFacial is a celebrity-favorite treatment that’s accessible for any skin tone and type. It’s one of the most-requested spa treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care because the results are gorgeous and there’s no downtime. It’s much more than a facial, combining three treatments in one: exfoliation, extracting gunk from pores, and infusing skin with medical-grade skin care products in one luxe 30-minute appointment. HydraFacial uses a proprietary Vortex technology with a wet vac approach that is much gentler than other abrasive forms of exfoliation options.

The first step, exfoliation, is critical for removing dead skin cells and debris. Although skin is cleansed before your treatment, the transparent chamber of HydraFacial will show you exactly how much more debris hides on the face. Extracting the pores is a deeper kind of exfoliation, and something that typically cannot be safely and fully achieved at home. Instead of the “extractions” that you might be used to during a facial, which can be painful, HydraFacial sucks out pore debris quickly and comfortably. This makes pores clean, clear, and appear smaller. You can’t actually change the size of your pores, but they are made of skin—which stretches. Clean, clear pores that aren’t clogged look smaller and help skin look smoother.

The final stage of HydraFacial, the infusion of medical-grade skin care products, is going to be different every time. Your skin is an organ, so it (and its needs) are always changing. Your provider will go over the state of your skin and your goals before the treatment. Then, hand-selected products will be added as the finishing touch to your facial. This is also a great way to try out new-to-you topicals without committing to an entire bottle.

The Importance of Medical-Grade

If you don’t exclusively use medical-grade products at home, you’re doing a disservice to your skin. Only medical-grade products can legally contain the best, strongest ingredients in the highest doses. They simply can’t be compared to OTC products, even high-end department store serums. From moisturizers to sunscreens and everything in between, going medical-grade will help you keep in-office treatment results longer. Right now is a great time to update your at-home regimen, too, as the seasons shift.

Every HydraFacial includes the application of a sunscreen in order to protect your skin. You may also benefit from a skin brightening serum or a topical especially designed for trouble areas like wrinkles around the eyes. Your provider will go over the products with you before and during the appointment.

Upgrade with Dermaplaning

Increasingly, more and more clients are starting their HydraFacial appointment with dermaplaning. Technically, it’s also a kind of exfoliation but different than what you enjoy with a HydraFacial. Dermaplaning does remove debris from the skin’s surface, but it also removes peach fuzz. Peach fuzz is not taken off during a HydraFacial treatment, and although it is very light on most people, it still gets in the way of a totally smooth face. Dermaplaning, when done professionally, is relatively gentle. Many people opt for monthly dermaplaning and HydraFacials in order to keep the incredible, baby-smooth results.

You might have noticed dermaplaning kits online or in stores. These are not professional-grade tools and should be avoided. Although dermaplaning is safe and gentle when performed by a professional, it can be either pointless or dangerous when used as a DIY approach. Ultimately, dermaplaning is an exfoliant that requires a scalpel (although many people try shaving their face to achieve a similar result). Removing too much of the skin from a delicate area like the face can cause trauma. It’s always best to work exclusively with aestheticians for any treatment that is typically in-office.

You can book back-to-back dermaplaning and HydraFacial appointments to take your results up a notch. There is no downtime for either treatment, and many clients schedule these treatments the day of a big event. Skin will look younger, more supple, feel incredible, and for those who wear makeup it goes on much easier. To find out more, schedule a consultation, or book your appointment, contact Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care today by calling the office or filling out the online contact form.

HydraFacial is the original 3-in-1 treatment that simultaneously exfoliates, extracts, and infuses skin with medical-grade skin care products. It’s one of the most requested treatments at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care, especially since we adopted the latest HydraFacial Elite technology that addresses delicate areas like the lips and around the eyes. However, HydraFacial (the original) started making headlines when it was announced that it was partnering with luxury maker Dior. Dior Beauty recently revealed that the “Dior Powered by HydraFacial” experience will be available at Dior spas starting this month. But here’s why you might want to stick with HydraFacial Elite.

Dior is not a medical-grade skin care provider. Yes, it is a luxury line (mostly known for its makeup), but its products are not developed with dermatological-grade skin care science backing them up. Dior has created a “co-branded booster,” since “boosters” are the term used for the final touch of any HydraFacial treatment. When skin is expertly exfoliated and pores are clear, that’s when any topical solution is going to do its best work. So why not make it medical grade?

The Dior Difference

Just like any HydraFacial or HydraFacial Elite treatment, the experience begins with a thorough cleansing and exfoliation. With the Dior option, this includes the Dior Floral Peeling Lotion, which is delivered via the HydraFacial’s patented vortex technology. This lotion uses polyhydroxyacids (PHAs) and niacinamide, which can be found in many over the counter products. For Dior, a spokesperson has said that the “partnership with HydraFacial is part of our commitment to develop treatment protocols with the ultimate goal of rejuvenating the skin to reverse the signs of aging.”

However, this lotion does not have 1) ingredients that can only be purchased at medical day spas or 2) high enough concentrations of such active ingredients to make it medical-grade. Further, a Dior HydraFacial is not going to be nearly as customized as a HydraFacial Elite treatment where your provider has numerous topicals available. Nobody’s skin is the same (and your skin is always changing), so why choose a facial treatment that can’t change with you?

Another factor to consider is cost. The exact cost of a Dior HydraFacial is going to depend on the location, but at this point the costs seen have been more than an original HydraFacial. Ultimately, you are paying in part for the designer “label” of a Dior facial. It might be a suitable treatment for some niche clients, but it’s certainly not a one-size-fits-all solution.

The HydraFacial Hype

Is HydraFacial Elite worth it? Definitely. In just 30 minutes you can achieve skin that is clearer, brighter, dewier, and more youthful looking. There’s no downtime, so you can schedule a HydraFacial Elite treatment the day of a big event. Many clients opt for monthly sessions in order to keep the results they instantly fall in love with. This is true even with the latest generation of Elite status, so there’s no need to worry about over-exfoliating lips or damaging the area near the eyes even with a monthly regimen.

HydraFacial Elite uses a wet-vac device, so it can be suitable for those with more sensitive skin or even acne breakouts. This is not true of other competing devices that take a “dry” approach. Instead, a HydraFacial is typically suitable for all types of skin and skin concerns. You can also pair it with other treatments like microneedling or dermaplaning. Microneedling is a collagen induction treatment that creates tiny, temporary micro-channels in the skin. Results aren’t immediate, but those channels can help the HydraFacial-paired products delve deeper into the dermis. Dermaplaning carefully removes peach fuzz and the very top layer of skin for an added exfoliation touch that yields baby-smooth skin.

So, is HydraFacial Elite for you? Probably! It’s a celebrity favorite that fits into any budget, lifestyle, or busy schedule. It’s also the perfect spring cleanup option to set yourself up for a summer of beautiful skin. Upgrade your beauty routine today and discover some new medical-grade products in the process. Find out more about HydraFacial, possible pairings, and book your appointment today by calling Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care or filling out the online contact form now.

You may have heard about HydraFacial, the 3-in-1 “wet” treatment that combines exfoliation with pore extraction and infusion of medical-grade products. It’s available at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care, giving clients an instant glow and baby-smooth skin. However, it’s much more than an aesthetic treatment that you can treat yourself to on a monthly basis. According to a 2022 study published in the Journal of Clinical Aesthetic Dermatology, it’s also an effective tool for treating active acne vulgaris. This means those with current breakouts can reduce their acne and even prevent or reduce future breakouts with this luxe procedure.

A research team set out on a 12-week, multicenter investigation to determine the “efficacy and tolerability” of the HydraFacial for skin improvement in those with active breakouts. It included 20 adult patients who each had mild to moderate acne. They were enrolled at one of two treatment centers in the U.S. and underwent a total of six HydraFacial treatments spaced every two weeks for three months. This is a bit more than what most clients opt for when simply trying to revitalize their skin and get a glow, but bi-monthly treatments are also suitable for all skin tones and types.

How HydraFacial Works

The HydraFacial takes three simultaneous approaches to skin care. It includes cleansing and peeling, a suction to extract sebum/dead skin cells/debris, and a blue LED light application. Finally, skin is bathed in hand-selected medical-grade skin care products. The researchers graded the severity of participant acne using the Global Acne Severity Score. The researchers found that after the final treatment, between 80 – 100 percent of both investigators and participants “agreed or strongly agreed” that there was an improvement in skin appearance. This included a variety of assessment parameters and, overall, the HydraFacial was well tolerated by all.

The team concludes, “The results presented here suggest that a series of six HydraFacial Clarifying treatments improves overall skin appearance in patients with active acne.” Most people will have acne at some point in their lives, and acne vulgaris—common acne—is the most prevalent. It is estimated that 45 million people in the U.S. alone have this condition and while many are young adults, it can persist throughout a person’s life. Acne can be found in over 90 percent of adolescents and up to 14 percent of those young people continue to struggle with acne into adulthood. While acne is a medical/dermatological condition and there are more severe types of acne, which can be painful, all types of acne have shown in a number of studies to have negative social and emotional consequences. For instance, research shows that those with acne are more likely to struggle with low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. In turn, improving acne can help patients beyond aiding in physical appearance.

Acne Options

For many years, microdermabrasion has been a popular in-office treatment for acne. It’s an exfoliative treatment that uses an abrasive force. However, it is also harsh by nature. HydraFacial uses a hydradermabrasion technique so patients get all the benefits of exfoliation without the harshness that can worsen acne. It uses a type of vortex technology combined with topical products to cleanse and exfoliate skin that is oily and congested (and, in turn, most prone to acne). Of course, you don’t have to have acne to benefit from this powerful and yet gentle procedure—anyone can get clearer, more youthful skin with a HydraFacial.

When participants were asked to self-grade the results, they said their skin looked clearer, had less erythema, looked less congested and oily, and overall appeared more radiant and healthier. They said they were more confident in their appearance, that there were fewer acne lesions, and that their skin seemed cleaner. Of the 20 initial patients, 18 completed all six treatments while the other two completed five. Most were female and the median age was 29.5 years old. The research team says that the “series resulted in statistically significant improvement in both investigator and patient GASS from baseline to final treatment.” Investigators and participants alike noticed an “immediate improvement in skin appearance” after just the first treatment. These results continued to improve over time and with every succeeding treatment.

Is HydraFacial for You?

This was the first clinical study to determine if a HydraFacial was a tolerable treatment that could significantly improve active acne. “Importantly, 100 percent of patients agreed or strongly agreed that their skin looked and felt cleaner and that they felt more confident in their appearance,” state the researchers. If you want to see the HydraFacial difference for yourself, schedule a consultation or appointment with Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care today. Call the office or complete the online contact form now.

Winter skin is different, but at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care we have all the aesthetic services to help you get healthy, glowing skin year-round. Recently, Forbes comprised a brief list of their most-recommended winter treatments and we couldn’t agree more.

First up is Emsculpt, the breakthrough treatment that helps you get back on your fitness track (or set a solid foundation for a new one) in just a few short sessions. How does Emsculpt work? It’s backed by science—and builds muscles the same way you naturally do at the gym, but with no effort on your end.

Emsculpt makes targeted muscles perform 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes. These are the contractions necessary to grow and build muscle. Of course, nobody can do 20,000 lunges, crunches, or other strength move (let alone in 30 minutes) but Emsculpt can. Your muscles will respond to these contractions just like they do in the gym, so expect soreness. Around 4 – 6 sessions spaced a couple weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.

Forbes stresses that not only does Emsculpt build muscle and reduce fat, but “The results are not just a more chiseled physique but additional strength in those areas.” This is critical for a myriad of reasons. For example, a toned stomach might look great but when your core is strong is also helps with balance and posture. Sarcopenia, or age-related muscle-loss, begins in earnest in our 30s and increases every decade thereafter. Strong muscles are essential to a healthy life, especially as we age, making Emsculpt not just a cosmetic treatment but one that can be critical to staying healthy.

HydraFacial Love

The HydraFacial is a 3-in-1 treatment that combines exfoliation with extraction and infusion of medical-grade skin care products. It uses a wet vac to give you a 30-minute treatment that leaves skin soft, supple, and healthier with no downtime. Forbes recommends it as a winter treatment for those who want fast results. Plus, the topicals added to the skin at the end of the treatment are all custom-selected for you and your skin’s needs in that moment, making every HydraFacial treatment unique.

There might be some slight pinkness after your treatment, but that dissipates quickly and you can get a HydraFacial the day of a big event with no worries about lingering side effects. In fact, day-of results is what most people love stating that their skin feels baby-smooth. HydraFacial can be a fantastic monthly treat or a way to prep for a special event.

Why Winter Skin is Different

Even in California, your skin is going to feel—and show—the effects of winter. Skin during this season tends to be dryer and the weather can trigger problems like breakouts or rosacea. Seeing your skin care expert is the best way to head off future problems and address current winter skin woes. Here, every provider has been personally trained by Zuzana Likar to unparalleled standards so that you can rest easy knowing every treatment is top of the line and individualized for you.

Winter is also a great time to reassess your at-home skin care regimen. Only medical-grade products should be used to supplement in-office treatments and get your skin as healthy and radiant as possible. However, our skin and its needs are always changing, and seasonal shifts can be a big one—remember that our skin is an organ. Working with an aesthetician to design an at-home routine that works for you and your budget can help you tick one more item off your New Year’s resolution list: take better care of your skin and reap the benefits.

If you’d like to schedule Emsculpt, a HydraFacial, or any other aesthetic treatment to look and feel your best in 2023, get in touch with us today. We have all of the tools and treatments you need, coupled with leading aestheticians in the field, to give you the results you deserve this year. Call Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care during business hours or, for a faster reply, simply complete the online contact form right now.

HydraFacial has been making waves since it was released and this 3-in-1 treatment is one of the most popular at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care. It combines exfoliation with extraction and ends with bathing the skin in hand-selected “boosters,” or topical treatments comprised of medical-grade products. There has already been a variety of boosters available for HydraFacial, but the makers of the technology—The Beauty Health Company—just announced the release of a new booster. Every HydraFacial is already unique, since your provider customizes the treatment for you and your skin’s needs in the moment, but the announcement of this new booster is about to make the procedure even more one-of-a-kind.

The latest addition is the result of a collaboration with BABOR Skincare, which was created under DOCTOR BABOR technology in order to maximize hydration of the skin for an even more lifted, youthful, smoother result. The booster is backed by science, just like all medical-grade skin care products, so you know you’re going to take your HydraFacial to the next level. This doesn’t mean the latest booster is for everyone every time, but it’s important to have variety in your skin care products so that you can get the best possible results.

Booster Delivery

No matter which booster your aesthetician matches you with, it will be delivered during the HydraFacial via the patented wand coupled with vortex fusion technology. HydraFacial is a wet facial and uses a wet vac system throughout the process. One of the best parts of the treatment is being able to see all of the gunk pulled from the skin and pores in the clear vacuum reservoir afterward. Skin is cleansed before treatment, so you know what is collected in the chamber was stuck in and on your skin. Being able to see for yourself just how clean your skin can be is a reminder of the power of HydraFacial. The power of boosters you’ll see and continue to experience immediately after your treatment—and beyond.

According to the President and CEO of the makers of HydraFacial, “HydraFacial has created the ultimate customized and personalized skincare experience, and we are pleased to add a new booster from DOCTOR BABOR to our offering.” New boosters aren’t added easily and must align with the goal of a HydraFacial. The booster is comprised of a collagen peptide complex, which improves skin elasticity and firmness so you get a more youthful look. It also has marine collagen, which is known for enhancing glow and elasticity. Finally, it has the gold standard in this type of products: hyaluronic acid. We all have HA naturally in our bodies, but its production declines with age. It’s the organic fountain of youth, plumping skin with hydration.

A Booster Transplant from Europe

BABOR is created in Germany and is a welcome addition to the 20+ boosters currently available with a HydraFacial. All boosters are medical-grade and were chosen because of their reputation and effectiveness. If it has been a while since you got a HydraFacial or if you’re new to this treatment, right now is a great time to schedule your appointment. The HydraFacial has also been listed as a must-have winter treatment because ‘tis the season for dry skin and a hydration-rich treatment is just what our skin needs. Plus, it pairs well with many other in-office treatments, from microneedling to Botox.

Pairing treatments is typically going to give everyone better results. There are limits to individual treatments, but mixing and matching gives you more control and customization. Just like being able to choose from many different boosters, choosing from a myriad of treatments is going to take your results to the next level. Your goals can be discussed during a consultation, but know that no consult is needed for HydraFacial. It is suitable for men and women with all skin tones and types. The only contraindication is open lesions. Skin should be healed and “closed” prior to this treatment due to the exfoliation part of a HydraFacial.

You know HydraFacial as the 3-in-1 procedure that dramatically improves the look and health of the skin in just 30 minutes with no downtime. Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care offers HydraFacial ELITE, the latest technology from the makers of the original HydraFacial that includes the capability of treating your scalp. Scalp health is essential for beautiful, nourished hair and should be a critical part of your overall skin care regimen. Now, you can count on your HydraFacial Elite treatment to treat you (and your scalp) right.

Another key difference between HydraFacial and HydraFacial Elite is that the latter is even better backed by science and the latest clinical results. The treatment is customizable, able to offer a variety of enhancements and combinations, so that every HydraFacial Elite you book is unique for you and your skin’s needs. The campaign for this technology, “Expect Everything,” gives you a hint at what you can expect: a totally individualized session suitable for everyone.

Treatment Option Perks

There are more treatment options with HydraFacial Elite, including the HydraFacial Keravive scalp treatment. The Elite option can also address the skin around the eyes and the lips, two of the most delicate areas of the face that the original HydraFacial couldn’t touch. When you ignore these areas, you’re simply not getting the best possible results. The eye area is one of the first places to show signs of aging, so you want to be certain that when you’re treating the skin it isn’t being neglected.

Of course, lip health is also paramount—especially considering the hydration and plumping effects of HydraFacial. This time of year, lips are especially prone to dryness. Undo winter damage with a half-hour treatment designed to nourish the entire face. Additionally, HydraFacial Elite offers Lymphatic Therapy and LED Light Therapy. Regardless of your skin’s health or where you want it to be, having a myriad of customized options for your favorite facial is the secret to getting skin you’ll love.

A Boost of Confidence

Boosters have always been part of the HydraFacial experience. These serums and topicals are hand-picked by providers (who are personally trained by Zuzana Likar) for your skin’s needs at the moment. The HydraFacial Elite has more custom boosters than ever before, with possibilities for every skin type and concern. Plus, thanks to the increased modality and flexibility of the HydraFacial Elite, it can technically be modified to treat virtually any part of the body. The face (and now scalp) is the most popular, but HydraFacial on the neck, tops of the hands, decolletage, and virtually anywhere else can give you the same results you love.

What the Studies Say: Pair HydraFacial and Lasers

According to recent clinical trials, HydraFacial Elite results in 50 percent smoother skin when you pair it with other treatments, like laser skin rejuvenation. In other words, you can double down your results by mixing and matching treatments. We will work with you to determine the best pairing for you. Those who opt for IPL treatment for brown spots experience a 30 percent additional reduction in hyperpigmentation when IPL is paired with HydraFacial Elite.

Low-level lasers and LED therapy, when combined with HydraFacial Elite, results in three times more skin thickness (which is highly desirable). Patients who get either ablative or non-ablative laser treatments achieve two times firmer and smoother skin when they also get HydraFacial treatments. The same results, two times smoother skin, can also be enjoyed when you combine HydraFacial with a radiofrequency or ultrasound treatment.

Acne and HydraFacial Elite

Another recent study has shown that the HydraFacial Elite LED Therapy is an effective treatment method for acne. In fact, investigators found that 100 percent of participants reported that their skin was “clearer, healthier, and more radiant” and 95 percent said their skin “looked less oily and congested.” No matter your skin type, HydraFacial Elite can help you get the results you want.

If you are interested in learning more about the HydraFacial Elite treatment or other in-office procedures, schedule a consultation or appointment with one of our expert providers today. Why choose between dermaplaning and a HydraFacial when they work so well together? At Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care, we are committed to giving you the best possible results and that often means mixing and matching treatments customized for your skin goals. Dermaplaning is an in-office, non-invasive, quick procedure that removes surface debris from the face including peach fuzz. Unlike shaving the face at home (for women), only dermaplaning uses a specialized scalpel to expertly remove all superficial debris without harming the skin.

Everyone has peach fuzz but, due to hormonal shifts and aging, we tend to grow more of it as we get older. Peach fuzz creates an unnecessary barrier over the skin, trapping bacteria and debris. It makes our skin have a poor texture, tone, and interferes with topical treatments. Routinely removing peach fuzz and other unwanted surface materials, usually once per month, not only improves the look and health of your skin but also helps you look younger. However, one of the most overlooked benefits of dermaplaning is how it is a fantastic precursor to other treatments that rely on topical applications—like the HydraFacial.

HydraFacial for a Monthly Glow

The HydraFacial is also a non-invasive, fast treatment recommended monthly to dramatically improve the look and health of the skin. It is a 3-in-1 treatment that takes just 30 minutes and requires no downtime. As the name implies, HydraFacial depends on moisture to yield results. It is suitable for men and women of all ages and with all skin types.

The first step in a HydraFacial is cleansing and exfoliating. This can be done immediately after dermaplaning (no down time is needed between treatments). Although dermaplaning also exfoliates, it is a different type than what the HydraFacial offers. Together, they maximize the effect so you get better results than either can achieve on their own. After the HydraFacial portion of exfoliation, it’s time to get down to serious business.

Steps 2 and 3 of HydraFacial

HydraFacial also removes debris from pores using a proprietary wet vacuum device. Clogged pores lead to skin having poor texture, looking older, and of course can harbor bacteria that trigger acne breakouts. Clean pores simply make your skin look clearer and younger, but it’s a process that needs to be repeated on a regular basis. This is why HydraFacial is recommended monthly. Pores can get clogged again thanks to topicals like sunscreen, makeup, and daily exposure to pollutants.

Finally, once the skin is completely clean and clear thanks to dermaplaning and steps 1 and 2 of the HydraFacial, your provider infuses your skin with medical-grade topicals specially selected just for you. Medical-grade products make a world of difference because only they can carry the best ingredients in the highest doses. After a HydraFacial, your skin is best prepared to really soak up these topicals so you can experience their full effect.

Combination Treatments

Of course, if you skip the dermaplaning, HydraFacial is not going to remove peach fuzz. This means that the topicals that cap off your treatment are not going to be able to penetrate as deeply as they could. If you want to make the most of your HydraFacial treatment, it’s always best to start your appointment with dermaplaning. Your session will still be under one hour and can fit into the busiest of schedules.

You can also pair dermaplaning with other types of in-office facials, though most clients prefer HydraFacial for its immediate results and serious glow. At Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care, providers are personally trained by Zuzana Likar to the highest of standards—so you always know you’re in the best hands. Regardless of the treatment, remember that the skill of your provider is just as important as the treatment or procedure itself. This goes for Botox, fillers, dermaplaning, and HydraFacial. If you’re ready to experience the next level in skin care, get in touch to find out which combo treatment is best for you. Connect with us today by calling the office or, for an even faster response, complete the online contact form.
